The Canadian Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums held its annual Summer Reception on June 21, 2018 in Toronto, in the exquisite refurbished Courtyard and Atrium at Toronto’s St. Michael’s Cathedral.

The evening started with Mass at the Basilica concelebrated by the Patrons recently appointed International Director, Father Kevin Lixey, L.C. This was Father Lixey’s first visit to the Canadian Chapter where earlier in the day he attend its annual AGM.

The host for the perfect Summer Evening Reception was His Eminence, Thomas Cardinal Collins who mingled and chatted with Patrons and their guests.

Debra Mauro, Chair of the Canadian Chapter welcomed guests, His Eminence and his support team at St. Michael’s. She then invited Father Lixey to speak about one of the Patron’s primary funding goals in the coming year, the need for the refurbishment of the 500 year old Baramonte Court Yard. Father then showed a short film about the project that was produced for Rome by the California Chapter.

A special thanks to Patron and Board Director Beatrice Parks for organizing the successful Reception.

All to quickly on this Summer Solstice evening it was time to thank the staff at St. Michael’s and His Eminence for such a beautiful location to hold the Reception and to wish all in attendance a Happy and Safe Summer.

Debra will be attending the International Chapters Chairs meeting that will take place in Rome in September 2018.
